Originally from Eastern Asia, raspberries are now grown in many locations around the world. From here in The Netherlands to Scotland, Morocco and even Mexico.
This fascinating berry is full of antioxidants, 50% of those antioxidants are ellagitannins. A particle which neutralizes invasive molecules and prevents cell damage.
Even after being processed to jam or juice for instance, many of these ellagitannins are still present.
They are also particularly high in vitamin K which support healthy bones.
All of the wholesome properties aside, raspberries really are delightful when it comes down to flavour. A sweet to taste and soft to touch! They are best served as they are, popped in a glass of fizz or sprinkled on to your favourite dessert.
